Annabelle

Annabelle came into rescue from a shelter. She was dumped there after her owner died. No one wanted to keep her and continue to care for her, so they decided to take her to the shelter to be adopt!? As most shelters and rescues know, dogs with severe injuries and/or disabilities, like Annabelle has, are never adopted unless someone is there within the 48 hour hold time, that sees them to adopt them. Most never see the daylight again.

We did not hesitate when the shelter called for help. As soon as her hold time was up, we picked her up and took her home. She never skipped a beat of being absolutely adorable and playful.

Although she had lost a lot of weight and body mass, from lack of a regular exercise and therapy program, Annabelle was content. We immediately began therapy with her, and got her into a training cart.

Annabelle loved the freedom that a training cart provided.

Through out her time with us, Annabelle never gained a great deal of movement or body mass, as she had been left too long without the needed therapies to maintain those and/or develop them.

However, Annabelle maintain her cheerful spirit and enjoyed every minute of her life.

We enlisted another foster family to work with Annabelle. We trained them to express her and work with her legs and muscles. They took to the routine, as did Annabelle, like champs. In the end, they adopted her.
